Modules, medical examinations and costs

We offer the following modules for the ifi-Health Check-Up:


Module I: Basis-Check-Up

Module 1 or the Basic Check-Up is designed for those who wish to know at a single appointment with a broad examination if they will stay healthy and be able to resist pressure.

The Basic Check-Up includes the following services:

  • Broad biographical discussion
  • Risk profile calculation for arteriosclerosis
  • Complete physical investigation
  • Skin-cancer prevention with a dermatoscope
  • Complete investigation of the skin and the mucosal tissues
  • Ultrasonic investigations
    • Ultrasonic investigation of all organs of the epigastrium and hypogastrium with Color Duplex sonography (liver, kidneys, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, prostate)
    • Ultrasonic investigation of the thyroid with Color Duplex sonography
    • Ultrasonic investigation of the extremity-vessels and the vessels supplying the brain with Color Duplex sonography
    • Echocardiography
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG)
  • Stress electrocardiogram
  • Test of the lung function
  • Laboratory tests
    • Examination of the stool for blood
    • Examination of urin
    • Erythrocyte sedimentation rate
    • Haemogram with differential smear
    • Clinical chemistry for the liver, pancreas, kidneys, bones and other organs (ALT, AST, gamma-GT, lipase, LDH, creatinine, AP)
    • Blood lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL)
    • Blood sugar presentation (glucose, HbA1c, C-peptide)
    • Thyroid hormones (T3, T4, TSH basal)
    • Diagnostic of infections (Syphilis, HIV)
    • If necessary, prostate specific antigen (PSA)
    • Electrolytes in the blood (Na, K, Ca, Mg, Cl)
  • Report on the diagnostic findings
  • Written summary of the diagnostic findings

Module II: Vaccination Check-Up

The Vaccination Check is designed for those who want to make sure with only one blood investigation that they are sufficiently secure against the following infections.

The Vaccination-Check-Up includes:

  • Consultation on vaccinations
  • Investigation of the vaccination protection for
    • Hepatitis A and B
    • Diphteria / Tetanus
    • Varicella-zoster-virus
    • Measles

Module III: Endoscopy

The module endoscopy includes an endoscopy of the stomach (OGD) and the colon (colonoscopy). Especially the colonoscopy is recommended for every healthy adult after the age of 50 in order to prevent colon cancer.

  • Endoscopy of the oesophagus, stomach and the duodenom
  • Endoscopy of the colon and the terminal ileum

Module IV: Radiological investigations

Radiological investigations have the disadvantage of health-threatening radiation and should only be done in isolated cases. Isolated cases could be for example heavy smoking for many years as well as heaped tumours in the family anamnesis. 
In line with the Health Check-Up we offer:

  • Radiological investigation of the thorax
  • Computed tomography of the thorax with or without contrast medium
  • Magnetic resonance imaging of the head with or without contrast medium

Modul V: STD-Check-Up

The STD Check-Up includes the detection or the ruling out of 15 different sexually transmitted diseases (STD). The STD Check-Up is especially chosen by promiscuous people or by people who are heading into a new relationship.
The STD Check-Up includes:

  • Consultation on sexually transmitted diseases
  • Taking urethral, rectal, vaginal and oral smears
  • Laboratory tests to detect or rule out:
    • HIV
    • Hepatitis A, B and C
    • Herpes-simplex virus (HSV) 1 and 2
    • Human papilloma viruses (HPV), > 50 types
    • Neisseria gonorrhoeae
    • Chlamydia trachomatis
    • Trichomonades
    • Haemophilus ducreyi
    • Donovonia granulomatosis
    • Mycoplasma
    • Fungus

 

Module VI: Liver Check-Up

The Liver Check-Up includes among others a liver specific laboratory diagnostics (including molecular biological methods in mode of a step-by-step diagnostics) as well as a liver elasticity measurement. Further information

Individual modification is possible. Several extensions of special investigations that are offered by the Asklepios Hospital St. Georg, are also possible (Costs on request).

*In combination with module 1 and 2 of the health check-up an additional liver check-up would cost 880 €.

The costs of the Health Check-Up are not covered by public health insurances. However, partial coverage is possible by private health insurances. This should be clarified with the insurance before arranging the Health Check-Up.
