The Institute for Infectious Diseases was certified as a “Centre for Infectious Diseases” on 20th May 2005 following the guidelines of the German Association for Infectiology (DGI). The recertification progress is on its way.
The certificate following the DGI states that at the centre, a “highly qualified service of a broad spectrum of infectious diseases following international standards” is provided. The fundamentals are the personnel and spacial equipment, the quality insuring measures as well as the basic and advanced education of the staff.
The Liver-Centre Hamburg is certified as a “Centre for Hepatology” by the Association of Practice-Based Gastroenterologists.
The full spectrum of diagnostic procedures, which are necessary to treat acute and chronic liver disease, especially virus-related hepatitis, is available. We offer in particular Fibroscan, liver biopsies, ultrasound diagnostics, as well as endoscopic procedures.
